Skillet Cake- 3/4 c sugar- 3T butter - 1 beaten egg - 1/2 cup sweet milk - 1 1/2 c flour - 2 t baking powder Mix everything well. Pour into a cast iron skillet into which 1 c brown sugar and 3 T butter have been well creamed and barely melted. Bake in a moderate oven until done. When done turn carefully onto a plate bottom side up. Server hot or cold, with whipped cream or plain. |
